A inclusão do homem na maternidade como meio fundamental para a promoção da emancipação feminina

Abstract

This research started from the analysis of the legal guidance given to maternity leave from its conception in the beginning of the 20th century to the present day to verify how much this norm, while bringing some guarantees for the working woman, also provided the maintenance of inequality of gender in the labor market insofar as this difference between men and women was accentuated, attributing to them the responsibility for childcare. This imbalance of burdens creates for women an encumbrance not only of extra work, but, above all, a social cost that impacts the labor market and harms her greatly, distancing her from the work environment and hindering her return. For this purpose, two theoretical bases were used, considered here as complementary, developed by the female Marxists and by Pierre Bourdieu, with the objective of analyzing the class struggle waged by the working woman, but also the cultural aspect of the patriarchy underpinning the relations discriminatory gender.
