Negras feridas: uma análise bourdieusiana na violência obstétrica sofrida pelas mulheres negras no Brasil

Abstract

This research aims to understand the process of producing obstetric violence in the field of medicine from the perspective of racial bias, in view of the theory proposed by Pierre Bourdieu. It seeks to understand how medicine and the training of doctors has an influence on the treatment received by women-mothers in hospital environments, taking into account the concepts of expertise, habitus and symbolic violence. The study analyzes the field of obstetrics from the theoretical, historical and empirical points of view, seeking to understand the sphere of doctor-patient domination responsible for characterizing obstetric violence. The scientific method used is inductive, in which an attempt is made to analyze the specific case in order to reach a general conclusion regarding how violence occurs and for what reasons. It is important to consider that this is an extremely silent and intimate violence, for this reason part of the reports of violence attached to the study will be taken from documentaries already published on the internet.
