Hegemonia neoliberal e sindicalismo: (re)pensando a atuação sindical no Brasil

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze trade union activity in Brazil, reflecting on the need to reestablish the parameters of this action in a hegemonic neoliberal context, for Brazil and many other countries walked in the final decades of the twentieth century. The study will be developed first knowing the roots of national syndicalism established since the abolition of slavery and the emergence of wage labor. General notions of the process of globalization and neoliberal ideology will be established, establishing points of convergence between these and the object of the study. We will deepen the analysis in two significant moments of Brazilian trade unionism, being the rise of the 70s, articulated in the abc paulista and the crisis of the 90s as a result of the neoliberal regime. Finally, the research is focused on the analysis of a union restructuring in the face of neoliberal policies, specifying the insufficiency of a unionized action to deal with the issues arising from global capitalism, sustaining the definition of minimum claim levels of global scope. The method that joins the development of this study is the dialectical method, based on descriptive analyzes of doctrinal support material. The juridical-social aspect of the research is of immediate conclusion by the importance of the union action in the guarantee of social rights, notably protection and assistance to the workers and for being an authentic movement of social representativeness
