Violências e ausências: um estudo dos principais problemas enfrentados pelos(as) transexuais no Brasil

Abstract

The issue addressed in the work in question is relevant insofar as it deals with the difficulties faced by the transsexual population in Brazil. In this way, it is first necessary to present how Brazilian law positions itself in relation to these people. Therefore, all norms already sanctioned in favor of this group will be exposed, highlighting, mainly, the ordinances that, in the last 20 years, have come into force regulating the process of transgenitalization, which includes the sexual reassignment surgery and the hormonal treatment of the individual . Next, it will be presented the reality experienced by transsexuals in front of society, showing statistical data that confirm that the lack of specific legislation is not a problem exclusively of the group, but rather a matter of public policies. The data show the growing number of transsexuals who, without opportunities, end up in prostitution and are brutally murdered. It also highlights the difficulty found in rectification of the surname due to Law No. 6.015 / 73, which behaves in a way that notoriously excludes transsexuals from their legal prediction, being effective only to the majority of the groups. Therefore, it is based on a materialistic analysis of the low efficacy of the legislation for the protection of transsexuals, pointing out how the process of transgendering is bureaucratic, influencing in the psychological one of those who opt for clandestine treatments, harming health. In this perspective, the research method used in this work is the inductive one.
