Da (in)constitucionalidade das vaquejadas

Abstract

This study aims to make an analysis about the cultural and sports practice of cowboys. Initially, it will be considered the legislation of the state of Ceará that sought to regulate this sport in order for it to happen without referring to constitutional provisions regarding animal care. After this, it enters the discussion on the prohibition of the sport in question on the part of the Brazilian Court, through direct action of unconstitutionality. And, finally, the position of the Senate in a way contrary to the decision of the Federal Supreme Court with the approval of the constitutional amendment that regulated the vaquejadas as a sports practice.
