Educação em Direitos Humanos para grupos vulnerabilizados e Defensoria Pública

Abstract

The research seeks to analyze how vulnerable groups can have access to human rights education that contributes to their social emancipation and to the realization of their rights, with the help of the Public Defender's Office. Therefore, it analyzes the concepts of stigma, vulnerability and social exclusion, the institutional functions of the Public Defender's Office and how it can expand the channels of dialogue with peripheral communities, so that they can contribute to the reduction of social inequality. The development of the present study is proposed through a theoretical-bibliographical research, that is, from the examination of the theoretical references, proposing the description and understanding of the analyzed phenomenon, expanding the perspective about it, and using the deductive method for the development of the exposed ideas. Thus, it seeks to question: How could the Public Defender's Office help vulnerable groups to have access to human rights education? It is concluded that the Public Defender's Office, through the elaboration of education activities on rights and local practices that contribute to the strengthening of community bonds, can help in the development of an emancipatory education in human rights for vulnerable groups.
