Abstract

The title of this text already advances the thesis that I defend: in-depth knowledge, average knowledge, initial knowledge, all are conceptual classes in the face of a continuum that is the process of knowledge. What will determine whether this or that information belongs to the middle level or the higher level, for example, are criteria that are extremely variable in time and space. As teaching and learning are included in the process of knowledge, they are also difficult to rank, as one does not exist without the other. Karl Marx's quote transcribed above is far removed from today's so-called affirmative policies and concerns an entirely different context. My aim in referring to it is to show how perspectives on education depend on the political context and can surprise and vary infinitely, to the point that Marx seems to prefer private higher education. Furthermore, the current agendas of this or that political group on education can change a lot in time and space.
