| Abstract: | Brazilian thought has been neglected by legal practitioners. One of the functions of philosophy, among its various other roles, is to consolidate the identity of a culture. It can be said that today, Brazil has a legal-philosophical past. The aim of this work is to introduce to the reader interested in the history of legal ideas in Brazil, the intellectual movement which began in the 19th century at the Recife Faculty of Law – hence known as the “Recife School” |
