Violação do direito à segurança no ambiente escolar sob a luz da teoria das janelas quebradas

Abstract

This study intends to analyze the violation of the right to security in the school environment by the perspective of the Broken Windows Theory. It was elaborated through hypothetical- deductive method and exploratory research. It was based on an extensive bibliographic survey, such as books, scientific articles, magazines, newspapers, current laws and also in the application of a student and teacher questionnaire responses. It aims the application of the Broken Windows Theory in school environment in order to avoid and prevent violence and to guarantee the fundamental social right to security, as recommended by the Brazilian Federal Constitutional of 1988. It briefly talks about rights and violence. It emphasizes the fundamental social right to security. It suggests the application of actions based on Broken Windows Theory in Brazilian schools. It observes the low cost to implement the actions in education establishments. Finally, it is concluded that the application of the Broken Windows Theory in education is the most accessible, simple and factual way to guarantee the right to security in Brazilian schools and, at the same time, to return to these same schools its role of preparing citizens to society.
